Tom Schneider: Poker Player & Author

Tom Schneider held big time professions before he started his career in poker in 2002. He used to be a certified public accountant, president and chief financial officer of three firms in Arizona before he was bitten by the poker bug.

As soon as Tom Schneider entered the tournament circuit in 2002, he was playing as if he had been in the industry for a long time already. On May 4, 2002, this poker professional reached the final table of a major poker tournament for the very first time. He emerged as the fourth placer in a Pot Limit Hold'em game of the 33rd Annual World Series of Poker. He was awarded the money worth US$29,600.

Still at the 33rd Annual World Series of Poker, Tom Schneider qualified for the championship of the No Limit Hold'em event that was held on May 24. He did not reach the final table but emerged as the thirty sixth placer, receiving US$30,000 as is prize winnings.

Because of the success he experienced at the said tournament, Tom Schneider did not hesitate to join the 34th Annual World Series of Poker in 2003. This poker professional joined only one event which was the Pot Limit Hold'em game. He emerged as the 14th placer, taking home US$6,080.

Tom Schneider was not seen at the 35th and 36th World Series of Poker tournament, but he was watched by many at the Rio Las Vegas Poker Tournament of the World Series of Poker Circuit Event that was held in 2005. This poker professional emerged as the 18th placer in a No Limit Hold'em game, allowing him to be awarded US$21,090.

It was in 2006 when Tom Schneider experienced several money finishes. First was when this poker professional joined the World Poker Challenge that formed part of the fourth season of the World Poker Tour. He joined the main event wherein he did not only finish in the money but also reached the final table. He won US$256,115 as the third place winning.

Still in 2006, Tom Schneider was also a participant in the Caesars Las Vegas Poker Tournament of the World Series of Circuit Event, the 37th Annual World Series of Poker, and the Festa al Lago tournament of the World Poker Tour.

Tom Schneider was more visible in 2007 than in 2006. The winnings he earned in 2007 came from more than ten live poker events. And in two of those poker events, this poker professional emerged as the first prize winner. Those events were both part of the 38th Annual World Series of Poker, which means that Tom Schneider now has two World Series of Poker bracelets. One of the events was the Pot Limit Omaha & Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo that won him US$214,347, and the other event was the Seven Card Stud Hi/L that won him US$147,713.

This poker professional also wrote the book "Oops! I Won Too Much Money: Winning Wisdom From the Boardroom to the Poker Table."
